Louis Vuitton just made a $2,800 smartwatch

Think smartwatch and you probably don』t think of luxury Android Wear watches costing thousands of dollars. If money is no object, and one of the nicest – and most expensive – smartwatches are your aim, the new Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon series might just be what you』re looking for.

First introduced in July 2017, these watches add a whole new meaning to the word 『opulence』. We thought the Mont Blanc Summit 2 was expensive at $1,000 (although it is  really nice and I』m a big fan of the crown), but the new Louis Vuitton takes the biscuit.

It is only the third device to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100, after the aforementioned Summit 2, and the $255 Fossil Sport . The rest of the specs include a 1.2-inch AMOLED screen, the choice of three case materials – polished steel, PVD, and ceramic – NFC for Google Pay, 8GB of internal storage, a 300 mAh battery that』s meant to last a whole day and 1GB of RAM.

What does this cost you? More than two Mont Blanc Summit 2』s and about ten times the cost of a flagship Wear OS watch. It starts at £2,125 (which is about $2,800) and depending on the style you choose, it can go up to £3,685 (~$4,865).

Honestly, who would want one of these when you probably have to charge it every day is beyond us. Ultimately, it』s pretty hard to justify spending anything significant on a smartwatch if you can』t rely on it to last you a weekend without needing a charge.
